Satanoperca lilith

Satanoperca lilith belongs to the absolute rarities under the eartheaters. In the past they were called “One-spot-Daemon” and attributed to Satanoperca daemon. For a few years now, they have species status . Without doubt, it belongs to the most attractive eartheaters and in contrast to it’s relatives like S. daemon and S. acuticeps, it has not been bred yet. With a size of about 20 cm, it requires a bigger aquarium, it is evidently peaceful to smaller species. Through it’s permanent digging activities, it is a professed miscasting in a pretty planted tank.(Photo F. Schäfer, Text K. Diehl)
