Tetraodon suvattii

Tetraodon suvattii the Thai- or Myanmar puffer fish is a fresh water puffer out of the Mekong, which can reach overall length of approximately 15 cm. The characteristic of the population offered by us is a "V" design on the back. The remarkable large head achieves nearly half of the body length. With their excellent set of teeth they can hurt booty fish and members of the same species badly. For maintenance large tanks are necessary, the tanks should be well structured. Special attention is to be dedicated to puffers during feeding, since then they can get very aggressive and try to bite each other. A socialization of puffer fish is not easy, since they regard also equivalent large tankmates still as food. As food particularly frozen food is suitable such as Krill, shrimps or fish.(Photo F.
