Apistogramma sp. „Algodon“

20. September 2018

There is a complex of very similar Apistogramma in Peru that are difficult to classify. They combine characteristics of A. cruzi and A. moae, but also differ in many points. One of the most beautiful species of this complex is A. sp. “Algodon”, also known as A. sp. Papagei/Papagayo or A. sp. “Algodon1”. It differs from other forms of the complex by the orange tail fin and the coloration in the head and front back area.

A. sp. “Algodon” was not available for many years, we could now once again import a good number. The courtshiping females have a special characteristic, namely two mirror spots on the flanks, which are only visible when they are very aroused.

For our customers: the animals have code 618304 on our stocklist. Please note that we exclusively  supply the wholesale trade.
