It was quite a big surprise to find a mouthbrooder in the well known genus Apistogramma ! The peruvian species is not yet described scientifically. It grows to a size of about 8 cm, which is pretty big for a “dwarf cichlid”. This species is still quite rare in the trade and thatfor pretty expensive.(Photo F. Schäfer, Text K. Diehl)
