Boraras cf. micros

6. July 2007

THE SPECIES HAS BEEN DESCRIBED SCIENTIFICALLY IN THE MEANTIME UNDER THE NAME OF BORARAS NAEVUS. PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING PAGE: http://www.aquariumglaser.de/en/boraras-naevus_de_1397.html

This scientifically undescribed dwarf fish was imported from Singapore. They have very bright coloration and will not outgrow 1.5 cm in length. Like all Boraras dwarfs these fish need a special aquarium on their own. This species requires soft water, dens groups of fine leafed plants in the background and surface plants for dimmed light. Filtration with peat increases the colours of these fish. Because these fishes are so small large amounts of offspring cannot be expected. The best thing to do is breeding in a continuous way. Feeding should be done with the smallest food available, like cyclops, artemia fry or finely grated flake food. These fish prefer high temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius.
