Poecilia vivipara

23. October 2014

We
receive this pretty livebearer only very occasionally. Now we obtained
this fish from a German breeder. The most remarkable feature of the
species is the ability to change the coloration drastically. Often this
wild species of molly presents a pattern of vertical stripes, but this
can be reduced also to a single spot on the shoulder. The belly of the
males is usually yellowish or blueish; but mating, dominant males change
to a very bright, splendid orange. Observing the behaviour of this fish
is a lot of fun. The species attains a maximum length of about 6 cm and
is absolutely peaceful.

For our customers: the fish have code 280993 on our stocklist. Please note that we exclusively supply the wholesale trade.
