Sadly
we are only very occasionally able to import this beautiful blue tetra
from Paraguay: Mimagoniates barberi. But now we finally can offer once
more this very lively brook fish.
Our
wild collected fish seem to be fully grown; at least they are sexually
ripe. The males (about 4 c, total length) are larger and heavier built
than the females. These animals are very peaceful schooling fish. They
are kept best at room temperature without an additional heater; however,
they also accept water temperatures up to 26°C without feeling
uncomfortable.
