Parosphromenus cf. filamentosus Ampah

12. February 2013

This pretty new species of licorice gourami originates from Borneo (southeast Kalimantan). Here it can be found between Ampah and Muarateweh. The species is very close to P. filamentosus and becomes around 3 cm long. Like all licorice gouramis the species prefers small, single species tanks, soft and acidic water and fine live food. Females can be recognized easily by the completely transparent caudal fin.
