We have received a truly enchanting new breed variant from Thailand: Super Red Yellow Top. It is an Endler type (Poecilia wingei), meaning it is small and delicate. All males have a fairly uniform coloration; variation is minimal and is essentially limited to the light shoulder stripe. However, the origin of the additional designation “Yellow Top” in the name is beyond our knowledge.
The males’ backs are wild gray and darken—which is typical for Endlers—during the most intense phase of courtship. The dorsal fin may also turn black at this time. The coloration of the caudal fin is particularly striking. The upper edge is white, and the transparent section features orange spots, the one located immediately at the base of the caudal fin being particularly large and very conspicuous.
For our customers: these fish are listed under code 419027 on our stock list. We receive both males and females of this variant, which are housed separately in our facility. Please note that we supply exclusively to wholesale customers.
